| American Constitution Society for Law and Policy $50,000 for work promoting a progressive vision of the Constitution, law and public policy by educating lawyers, law students, decision-makers and the public. As You Sow $25,000 for the Nano Food Shareholder Campaign, which uses shareholder activism to appeal for the removal or labeling of nanomaterials in food and food packaging. Asociación Interamericana para la Defensa del Ambiente $40,000 to support a network of public interest organizations addressing environmentally based human rights violations throughout the Western Hemisphere. Also $35,000 to sponsor a legal fellowship at the nexus of human rights and environmental law. Association Guinéenne pour l’Allègement des Charges Féminines (AGACFEM) $38,719 to promote agroecological solutions among women’s farmer groups in West Africa. (Fiscal sponsor: Pesticide Action Network North America) Bill of Rights Defense Committee $25,000 in general support of efforts to raise public awareness about the threats to civil liberties posed by the USA PATRIOT Act and other repressive government measures; and to marshal grassroots efforts around the country to restore constitutional protections. Center for Constitutional Rights $150,000 in general support of education and litigation efforts to preserve and protect constitutional rights. Center for Health, Environment, and Justice $30,000 for the BE SAFE Campaign to advance precaution-based environmental and chemical policies through grassroots community organizing.
